In the past decade, the use of cannabis has been legalized or decriminalized in some countries and US states as a result of changing perceptions regarding recreational cannabis and discoveries that have identified the mental and physical health benefits of the drug. In fact, more than 40 states have legalized medical marijuana in some form, and recreational marijuana use is legal throughout Canada, and in more than 20 US states; Washington, DC; and Guam. In other places, possession and use of cannabis is still a serious crime. Cannabis Today provides a fact-based examination of the issues associated with marijuana.
