This series collects multiple stories on similar topics together in a graphic novel format. Both Dinosaur Stories and Heroes of Greek Mythology are an excellent way to allow children to explore both points of interest. Dinosaur Stories offers us a glimpse into the lives of Pteranodon, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, and Velociraptor as they hatch and grow up. We follow them as they learn survival and pack tactics, and into their adult lives. Heroes of Greek Mythology covers elements of familiar stories like the Trojan War, Jason and the Golden Fleece, the Labors of Heracles, Perseus and Medusa, Theseus and the Minotaur, and the Voyage of Odysseus. Both are well-illustrated and informative, including a glossary to help young readers with unfamiliar vocabulary.
VERDICT Educational graphic novels are an excellent way to help children learn to visualize the topics they are learning about. This series contains many excellent examples, and is presented cohesively.
